Kinder Engineers in Action

KidsQuest Children's Museum brought a hands-on, two-day in-house field trip to our kindergarten classrooms where students explored forces in motion by designing and building marble chutes. Using a variety of materials, kinders learned about gravity and how changing ramp angles affects speed while collaborating, problem-solving, and creating like young engineers. Thank you to the PTSA for sponsoring this fun learning experience!

Timber Ridge kindergartners kicked off the concert season with an adorable performance led by Mrs. Salmon! They sang Hello, Kye Kye Kule, Steady Beat, I’m a Superhero, No More Pie, Jailhouse Rock, You Are My Sunshine (with special lyrics for their teachers), and This Little Light of Mine. Students demonstrated their growing skills in rhythm, movement, and singing in rounds—what a joyful celebration of music and learning!

Scholastic News Sparks Learning

Mrs. Cofer’s fourth grade class received a learning boost thanks to a grant from the Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation. The grant provides access to Scholastic News and interactive learning games, supporting differentiated instruction and student engagement.

Students build reading, critical thinking, and math skills through high‑interest articles and collaborative games like Lonked, Sumology, and Target. Scholastic News has become a favorite part of Wednesday mornings, sparking thoughtful discussions and real‑world connections.

This opportunity was made possible through the Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation.

A Beautiful Night of Music

The SVSD Elementary Choir Concert filled the MSHS Performing Arts Center with beautiful harmonies.

North Bend Elementary performed A Beautiful Noise and Old Time Rock and Roll, followed by the Timber Ridge Choir with Song for a Pirate Child and When You're Smiling. The evening concluded with both choirs joining together for A Child of Song and How Can I Keep from Singing?

Thank you to all the families who came to support, Tom Cady (NBES Choir Director), Rebecca Salmon (TRES Choir Director), and accompanist Dan Taylor for making it such a memorable evening.

Future Musicians in Action

Our fifth graders had a fantastic hands-on experience at the "Instrument Petting Zoo," sponsored by Ted Brown Music. They tried out flutes, clarinets, trumpets, and trombones and warmed up their vocal cords. This exciting event gave future middle school band and choir students a chance to explore different instruments and discover what they might love to play or sing.

For all students who sign up for band there will be a required Instrument Fitting Night at CKMS on April 30 from 5-9 p.m. where Mr. Talbott will help students find the instrument that will be the best fit for them. At this event, parents will also have the opportunity to learn about rental options and get involved with the CKMS Music Boosters.

Bingo Night Fun

Bingo Night was a great success, with our Wolves enjoying an evening full of excitement, prizes, and nonstop laughter. Thank you to the Timber Ridge Elementary School PTSA for organizing such a fun event and bringing our community together. The silent auction helped raise funds for the PTSA, while concession sales supported Fifth Grade Camp. A special thank you to Ms. Gage for calling the Bingo numbers, our Mount Si High School volunteers for their time and support, and to everyone who attended and contributed to these important causes.

A Sneak Peek at CKMS

CKMS Principal Trifunovic, Mrs. Calderon (Choir), Mr. Talbott (Band), and student musicians visited to give our fifth graders a preview of middle school electives. Performances by Jazz Choir and Advanced Band, along with highlights from art and digital media, made it an exciting experience.

Elective registration opens Wednesday, April 1 in ParentSquare—please submit selections by Tuesday, April 7.
